Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Frentano, fruity, harmonious, easy drinking red wine! This is a fresh faced bottle of sincere and uncomplicated red wine! The generous soils of Southern Abruzzo and this noble, classic Montepulciano grape. Produce a red wine with an intense ruby-red colour and purple reflections. A fragrant nose of violets and black cherries at a price that your bank balance will love! To taste, you can pick up prunes, plums, dark cherries and a dry peppery-spicy finish to act as a balance. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Frentano is matched well with roasts, steaks, lamb, salumi and cheeses or just sit down, uncork (well, unscrew…) and quaff it!

Cantina Sociale Frentana is located in Rocca San Giovanni, south west of Pescara.

This is a winery where tradition is combined with progressive methods to produce excellent value wines with an authentic heart, which is what we look for. The wines are fermented in their state-of-the-art winery in stainless steel tanks which accentuate the natural ripe fruit flavours. Not a natural winery per se, but one that works to promote ethics and sustainability in the vineyard, with parts of the vineyard already converted to organic production.
