Muscat Siroc Mare Nostrum Vini 2022, skin maceration natural wine, 60% Muscat Blanc a Petit Grain and 40% Muscat d’Alexandria, 9 days maceration with the skins, 2 years ageing in old oak barrels. Stunning orange wine with exotic aromas of spices and dried fruits. The thing that makes Muscat on skins so delicious is the texture of the wine. The grape is low in acid and so the skin contact adds character and structure and here the balanced is perfect. Beautiful orange wine, try with a Tagine!
Each of the Mare Nostrum wines come from carefully selected vineyards starting in the South of France and expanding across the Mediterranean. The wines all have a common link, each is named after the wind that influences the region from which they come and plays a crucial role in the character that can be discovered in each bottle. This wine is named after the Siróc: the wind that blows from the deep south, carrying the warmth and sand of the Sahara, along with its exotic aromas. The Siróc touches every shore of the Mediterranean, just like Muscat grapes, which are found all along its coasts — from the Spanish islands to Greece, and even Egypt, where they are often eaten as table grapes.
