Delicious funky red wine from the mountains. The strange Persan variety is hardly heard of in the UK yet can make for delicious wine. The origins of the grape are uncertain, however some ampelographers have linked the variety to the even lesser known Étraire de la Dui, also found in the Savoie and even Pinot Noir and Syrah. However DNA testing have shown it be the same grape as Bécuet grown in the Susa valley of Piemonte and one of the main grapes of the region’s local wine Ramié. All not telling us much in terms of the way it tastes however a little back ground history is often quite intriguing we always find! So try this wine, let us tell you, it tastes great, not in any way weird and a combinations of fresh summer pudding fruits and that authentic natural twist and minerality you always get with the wines of Giachino make for a delicious glass.
