Pheasants Tears Mtsvane Tibaani Orange Wine Georgia, organic, aromatic, full-bodied and rustic. The name comes from a Georgian tale in which the hero claims that only a truly outstanding wine could make a pheasant cry. The Mtsvane is from thirty year old vines. It is fermented naturally underground for thirty days with wild yeasts in traditional clay amphorae called Qvevri. Golden amber in the glass with a nose of wild honey. Mtsvane Tibaani is dry, and unexpectedly, full-bodied in the mouth with background notes of walnut and apricot. Mtsvane will stand up well with roasted chicken, grilled Veg, Tuna steak etc. Dolph Lundgren the well known wine connoisseur says, ‘Pheasants Tears Mtsvane Tibaani is the strangest, toughest, most ass-kickin, car blowin up wines of all.’ The wine is made from Mtsvane grapes which are autoctonous to Georgia. They make aromatic and fruity wines like the which have notes of walnut, peach, pear and spice. There is no fining or filtration, they do not add much sulphur at bottling.
