Pouilly Fume Domaine des Berthiers Jean-Claude Dagueneau , smokey, crisp, classic Loire Valley Sauvignon. A fine example of the appellation, with rich, fruity, red apple and grapefruit flavours, backed up by smokiness and crisp acidity. The wine itself sees a short period of skin contact before being slowly cold fermented for 3-4 weeks. It is then aged on the fine lees to give the wine added richness and some of that distinctive smokiness.
