Romangia IGT Bianco Tenuta Dettori 2018, Sardinia, 100% Vermentino, full bodied, skin contact white wine, very rich, very deep, for very strong mature cheese or Fois Gras type terrines, or rich game stews. This is a very serious white wine with 15.5% alcohol. It comes from the Badde Nigolosu in the historic region of Sennori in northern Sardinia. Here the sun beats down on the ancient bush vines and produces very ripe grapes, full of sugar and flavour. The sugar turns to alcohol and the skin contact during fermentation gives tannin and mouth feel as the acid is low. This wine can be drunk almost like a red with big string flavours, slow roasted meats like Pork or old strong cheeses with a stinky rind. It could also work as an after dinner wine.
