Romate Amontillado Sherry 750ml, delicious, oxidised medium sherry Sanchez Romate. Made by fortifying the wine made from Palamino grapes, so that no flor yeast develops but a slow, controlled oxidation is allowed to take place. This gives the amontillado its trademark amber colour. It’s then aged through the solera system to provide consistency. The Romate has intense nutty aromas and refined palate – the features of an exceptionla sherry! I always find a chilled glass of Amontillado gets my juices flowing before a meal – but it’s also great served alongside broths or with chicken or rabbit.
