Rosso Conero Villa Malacari, 100% Montepulciano, full, dried fruits, cedar and spice, lovely texture, delicious wine. The nose is equally rich and enticing with red and black cherry and berry fruits and hints of warming spice. The palate is balanced and intense with a layer of rustic earthiness under the sumptuous fruit. I fell in love with the Malacari wines after an amazing tasting in the courtyard overlooked by the 15th century villa with the sun setting and the wines dancing on the tongue. Often voted the most traditional producer in the region, the wines never fail to deliver on flavour and character. Perfect hearty red for winter nights, rich stews and roasts.

The wines of Malacari come from an estate first built in 1668, noted as one of the oldest in the Marche, and still working with the same traditional methods, in the same cellar which provides a cool, constant temperature all year round.

The reds are made from Montepulciano which is a grape variety typical to the region. Only natural herbicides and pesticides are used, and harvesting takes place by hand to ensure the quality of the grapes. Fermentation takes place naturally and the wines are bottled without filtration.
