Rossore Barbera Cascina Iuli 2021

Rossore Barbera Cascina Iuli, natural wine, 100% Barbera, full bodied, deep colour, dark fruits, soft palate.  A mouth filling delight of a red wine, lush dark fruits, notes of sweet spices, a classic red from Piemonte.  This old school Barbera is from vines now over 40 years old.  Yields are low so the wine is concentrated, 14.5% abv with a beautiful dark colour and black fruit aromatics.  The palate is fresh as Barbera should be with good acidity aligned to the soft lush fruits.  Rossore has a long maceration and 24 months maturation in large barrels.  This is a serious red wine and fantastic value for money.

I was born here and have always lived here.  I like to make my wines in the Piemonte tradition, (cement tanks and wooden barrels).  Being part of the area of white terroir, of mineral soil, I try to make gentle wines.  I like wine which is easy to drink, not banal, possibly elegant, fresh, dynamic and crunchy.  Fabrizio Iuli, owner of Cascina Iuli.
