Salice Salentino Mocavero, Malvasia Nera, Negroamaro, Montepulciano, Pure Puglia, excellent every day hearty red for Pasta…….Every time i have this wine, i think to myself, i must drink this more often, it is so good. I suppose nowadays when i am taking a bottle home, i am always looking for something totally different and unusual and i forget how fantastic these little Italian wines are on an dull Wednesday evening. With some thrown together Pasta with loads of garlic, red peppers, a little basil and some bits of left over Tuscan sausage (that the kids didn’t eat), this Salice Salentino Mocavero is like nectar and turns a boring Wednesday evening into another pleasurable exploration of the senses! Just in case i haven’t mentioned, this is made by my good mate Francesco Mocavero and his other wines are pretty splendid too, great for a mixed case of nice Italian reds.
