Sancerre La Vigne Blanche Henri Bourgeois, 100% Sauvignon Blanc, acclaimed producer, steely, cirsp, dry Sauvignon. Sancerre Vigne Blanche comes from vines grown on slopes separating the village of Chavignol from Sancerre, the terroir being an amalgam of clay and limestone chalk. Oak aged in barrel for five months on the fine lees, La Vigne Blanche is vinous with herbaceous notes of elderflower and ivy as well as a hint of kiwi fruit. A classic in the modern sense of Sauignon Blanc, crispy all the way to the apple tree, for those who love lip smacking white wine and racy acidity! Good with Oysters, we eat them all the time up here in Yorkshire!

We thoroughly enjoyed this with seabass and seabream in a simple butter sauce. It has the typical ripe gooseberry aromas and flinty-smoke flavours without being too acidic.
