The Easter Triple – 3 Bottles, three ideal natural wine for the Easter weekend. First, the lovely Veilloux Cremant, made from Orbois (a local grape also called Menu Pineau) and Chardonnay. This delicious Sparkler brings a smile every time. It is naturally made from quite old vines, hand harvested and aged on the lees in tank before bottling and then in bottle for approx 1.5-2 years before bottling. A baby Champagne if ever their was one, and remember very good Cremant is so much better than poor Champagne. The perefct Easter celebration glass.
Next we have a super new Verdicchio from natural grower Ca Liptra in the Castelli di Jesi area of the Marche. Kypra is delicious Verdicchio, a grape which is often underrated as it can produce deep, complex and gastronomic wines of exceptional class. Here the 2024 has the depth and intensity of low yielding Verdicchio with lovely fresh acidity and that slightly bitter, verging on nutty finish. Excellent for Fish but also white meat and hard sheeps cheese like Pecorino.
Finally, a delicious non vintage red wine made from naturally farmed Grenache in the Cevennes area of Southern France. Costal is made by our own artisan of the Languedoc, Joe Chadellier. He had a small volume of Grenache grapes in 23 and 24 so after whole bunch natural fermentation, he kept both vintages in tank with very little sulphur and then blended them together and aged the wine in an old barrel for a year. The result is s sublimely elegant and classy Grenache which has a hint of top end Loire Cabernet Franc about it, with opulent red fruits combined with subtle grassy and bell pepper notes. For Spring Lamb at Easter, we think this is a winner.
Three great natural wines, three titally different emotions, enjoy them over the holidays, Happy Easter 2026.
