The nose is delicate with little red berries and a velvety, seductive character which is classic Meroni. The palate is dry, medium, crunchy and satisfying. This is wine which takes you immediately to the rolling hills of the Valpolicella. Crafted by a true artisan in Carlo Meroni in the classic production method, it is traditional Valpolicella in the best sense of the word. There is a lot of pretty ropy Valpolicella out there, cheap imitations of the real thing are always disappointing but when you get a good one, it expresses Italian wine at its seductive best. Great with pasta, grilled pork, river fish or carpaccio.
