Consono, Verdicchio, Accadia Marche white, clean, crisp, bright and nutty! Verdicchio Consono is classically taught, crispy, minerally and slightly sour from a great producer called Angelo Accadia. I had one of the best tastings and lunches at a winery ever here! A hot day driving round in a van with a bunch of enthusiasts was made all the more enjoyable after 5 hours at Angelo’s very modest little winery in Serra San Quirico just up the river Jesi from Ancona. Accadia’s entry level Verdicchio Consono is delicious on its own, or with a little fresh fish or an ‘Amatriciana’! It ages really well too! Although not a fully fledged natural wine, Angelo’s approach is very minimalist, his vineyard is untouched, bedraggled and certainly not sprayed with chemicals and his wines are very pure and authentic examples of Verdicchio.
