Verdicchio Di Gino Fattoria San Lorenzo, biodynamic, nutty, complex, easy and expressive dry white wine. This is the entry level Verdicchio from Fattoria San Lorenzo, named after Natalino’s father. It is rich and expressive with notes of fresh orchard fruits, with lovely texture, and nutty complexity. A very approachable, great value natural wine, unmasked by oak. Drink with fish or chicken.

Grower Information

Fattoria San Lorenzo is a third generation family winery, run by Natalino and his family in Montecaretto, that is completely organic and biodynamic and also include an organic olive grove.

The farm is rich in biodiversity, with dozens of farm animals, (some of which lend their names to his wines, such as the Goose). He believes manual farming is the best way to maintain the health of the vines, and his skill as a winemaker is testified by the fact that his wines are so ageworthy - his top Verdicchios age like a bold Chablis.

Nice little white, crisp, dry, but some nuttiness and complexity from the lees ageing. Hard to argue at this price!

Way more complexity than you’d expect for the price. There is slight nuttiness and plenty of texture but at the forefront there’s a real vivid acidity. Orange wine lovers should be interested in this. Tasted great on a damp Sunday evening in Bradford, would imagine it tastes incredible with an outdoor dinner on a sunny afternoon.

5 stars considering the price.
