Vin de France Merlotinox Ormiale, Biodynamic production, low yields, no intervention, no oak! Smooth, elegant rich Bordeaux with intensity, depth and a seductive mouthfeel. Many Bordeaux wines are intense but the intensity seems prosaic, not authentic, even manufactured. When drinking Ormiale, you know you are drinking natural wine as the wine is fresh and balanced but low yields, de-stemming and fantastic terroir mean the wine has a richness and depth which makes it extremely opulent and alluring. Quite simply stunning red wine with all the smooth opulence you would expect from top claret without any wood flavours or clumsiness. When drinking Merlot like this you are reminded just what a fabulous grape it can be when farmed correctly and made as nature intended. Only just over 1000 bottles were made in 2017.
