Zweigelt Judith Beck, organic wine, fresh, medium bodied, bursting with summer fruits and an underlying chocolate richness. Zweigelt is a cross between Blaufrankisch and St Laurent, it is quite vigorous and often needs green harvesting to keep yields down. These vines produce 50 hectolitres/hectare so pretty low. This fruit is handpicked, destemmed, followed by natural fermentation in stainless steel and about 2 weeks of maceration. Then it is pressed and aged in old barrels. A lovely fruit driven red wine for any circumstances, drink up!
