Details

Quinta dos Roques Touriga Nacional 2017, full bodied and deep red with fine elegant tannins, ripe, dark fruits and loads of layers of spice and complexity, a serious red wine which rivals anything from the top end of Rioja or Ribera del Duero. Touriga Nacional is an incredible grape, capable of red wines which tick all the boxes for those who look for richness, deoth, dark colours, body and texture. Quinta dos Roques, although not an out and out natural producer tend to the vines with a very light tough, They is no systematic chemical use although organic certification is not possible due to the proximity of other growers. The purity of the fruit is reflected in the wines, which are straight-forwardly delicious. For hearty red wine, loo no further.

Luis and Luisa Lourenco run this family estate, often attributed with reviving the reputation of Encruzado in the region. They produce a wide array of meticulously assembled wines, offering both traditional blends, and varietal wines. The Touriga Nacional here is widely considered to be the finest in Portugal, and their Encruzado is also considered one of the country's leading dry white wines.
