Details

Rose Vineyard Marlborough Riesling Pyramid Valley 2014, Biodynamic, off dry Riesling, golden, hay, camomile, Germanic style from New Zealand. This is a powerful and rich Riesling, with a strong backbone of minerality. Aromatic, with flavours of camomile and other floral characteristics, and a lovely golden colour. Grown from high density plants on a deep gravelly soil.

From the Pyramid Valley Growers Collection, where they lease vineyards from other growers, investing in creating sustainable, quality wines which represent their terroir. The Rose family have been Marlborough grape growers for over 30 years. Their home vineyard in Rapaura has strong soils, gravelly and deep: this wine aims to be an ultimate expression of this site. Very low yields and labour-intensive viticulture create a powerful Riesling, at once rich and precise, full-bodied, but with stark mineral cut. Pyramid Valley wines will often show natural sediments, as they are bottled unfined and unfiltered wherever possible, and are never subjected to cold stabilisation.
