Rubicola dell'Umbria Pomario, natural, crunchy, organic Sangiovese. A delicious, lighter example of Sangiovese, to show that Sangiovese has a fun side outside of Chianti. Early harvest and stainless steel fermentation helps to keep the youthful character, and slightly sour edge which makes it a lovely aperitif or accompaniment to light meals - even freshwater fish. You could certainly serve this cool on a warm afternoon if you're not into rosé. It has lovely fresh aromas of red cherries, rosehip and violets.
Respecting the environment and maintaining ecological balances have been the guidelines for this estate since it was founded. This lovely little organic winery located in the province of Perugia near Monteleone di Orvieto, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria produces accessible wines that are very much Italian at their heart. Small, family run yet with state of the art equipment, they grow Trebbiano, Malvasia and Sangiovese among other varieties.
