Sade Rubor 2014, Orange Wine, Natural Wine, 100% Albillo, fabulous entry into orange wines. This wine is a gem, artisan through and through, this tiny producer based in Castilla Y Leon makes only tiny quantities of hand crafted organic wines which not only are delicious but come in at fabulous prices. Consider a wine made from low yielding bush vines on granitic soils, high up in the Cabreros mountains, with no intervention, virtually no sulphur and long skin contact with the superb Albillo grape variety and you have Sade. What's more they only manage to make a mere 500 bottles a year, no that is small production, we would drink that much in a few months! Sade is fresh and dances on the tongue but has plenty of orange about it and that lovely savoury nature of Albillo. The colour is enticing and the texture superb, buy it there isn't much at all!

These wines come from a collaboration of 7 wine producers headed by Orly Lumbreras in the region of Castilla Y Leon not from the beautiful walled city of Avila. All the vines are old, situated on exposed slopes in the mountains up to 900 metres above sea level and trained to bush vines to protect them from wind resulting in low yields and concentrated grapes. Both reds and orange are concentrated but don't lack freshness at all. All the production is natural and sulphur use is low. The are great hand crafted wines at exceptionally good prices.
