Terms & Conditions
Website
All the information on this website is updated as regularly as possible. However discrepancies may occur, we apologise for any information which may be missing or not totally accurate.
Please note that the bottle image may not show the actual vintage available. Please check the product details for the actual vintage. We aim to keep this updated and as accurate as possible however wines produced in small quantities run out quickly and vintages change often. You can untick the box' accept alternative vintage' in the shopping basket if you only want the vintage shown. If it is no longer available, we will contact you.
If we have sold out of a particular wine that has been ordered on-line, we will do our best to re-stock the wine and fulfill the order as soon as possible or suggest a good alternative.
Our Delivery Policy
Our standard mainland UK delivery rate is £9.95 for any number of bottles and any value up to £99.
We offer a reduced rate for mainland UK delivery of £6.95 when you spend £99 or more.
We offer free delivery to mainland UK when you spend £199 or more.
For single bottles over £18.95, we are now able to offer delivery at £5.95, sent 2nd class using Royal Mail. Please allow 2-3 days from when you receive your despatch email for delivery if you have selected this option. Please note this service is not tracked or signed for. Once the parcel has left us, we expect delivery by Royal Mail within 48-72 hours, however, delays do happen. If delivery is to a flat or apartment block, it is less likely that Royal Mail deliveries are successful, ie, they might end up being left at the local sorting office without you being aware. If you do live in a building like this, we suggest using our tracked apc courier service. Note that, our Royal Mail service is not tracked and if the delivery isn't made within 48-72 hours from the dispatch e mail, we suggest contacting us so we are aware of the delay. We cannot add delivery instructions to Royal Mail deliveries. If the delivery is not made within 7 working days excluding bank holidays, we can assume it has been lost and either resend or process a refund.
Other UK addresses including the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland have higher delivery charges and these depend on the postcode. However some of these addresses are valid for the Royal Mail single bottle service. We currently cannot offer international shipping.
To calculate the delivery charge for non-mainland UK addresses, please enter your postcode into the billing/shipping address field and the charge will be calculated based also on the value of your purchase.
We also offer free delivery for orders of £75 and above to addresses which fall within our northwest delivery route including Settle and surrounding area, Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal and surrounding area, The Lake District, Skipton and surrounding area, Harrogate, Leeds, Manchester, Clitheroe and the Ribble Valley.
To see if you qualify for this special rate, please enter your postcode into the billing/shipping address field.
Orders can be collected from our shop in Settle free of charge 7 days a week.
We always aim to ship wine as soon as possible, and in most cases, we will ship the wine the following day, though please allow up to 5 working days for your order. If you have not received your delivery within 5 working days of your order being taken, and you have not been contacted by one of our customer service advisors, please contact [email protected] or call 01729 824056. You can see if your order has been despatched by logging into your customer account. When your wine has been despatched you will receive an e-mail to let you know. Your wine should arrive the next working day after you receive the despatch e-mail. Please note that delivery is Monday-Friday only. If your wine doesn't arrive the day after you receive the despatch mail, please contact us straight away so we can find out the whereabouts of your order.
Unfortunately we are unable to specify an exact day or time of delivery. If you are not in when we try to deliver, then a card will be left through your door and our couriers will make two further attempts to deliver the wine. If both of these are unsuccessful, another card will be left and the wine will be held at a local collection centre for a further 7 working days. If you do not collect the wines within this time then the order will be returned to Buon Vino and further delivery charges may apply to resend your order.
If nobody is in to receive the delivery and sign for it and you would like us to leave it in a safe place or with a neighbour, you do so at your own risk. Please complete the comments section during checkout, giving precise details of where the wine is to be left.
Please note, we can only deliver to UK addresses with a postcode. We are not able to delivery to P.O. Boxes or BFPO addresses.
Cancellations / Collections / Returns
We consider your satisfaction with our products and service to be of utmost importance. With this in mind if you are dissatisfied with the purchase you have made or the service you have received, please contact us immediately on 01729 824056.
In the unlikely event that your wine is damaged on arrival or if the wrong wine has been delivered to you, please contact us and we will arrange for collection and exchange or reimbursement. We will reimburse you within 14 days from the date you notify us, once the wines have been collected by our carrier, returned to us and inspected.
Unfortunately, from time-to-time wines may arrive out of condition, usually due to defective closures or any number of possible naturally occurring faults. If you find a bottle where you believe this is the case, please contact customer services immediately on 01729 824056 or e-mail [email protected]. Please note, we aim to make sure that any genuinely faulty wine is reimbursed, however we cannot guarantee this indefinitely as we do not know how wine may have been stored and certain wines which are designed to drink young (within 1-2 years of the vintage) may not develop well over a longer period. We therefore limit any reimbursement to within 6 months of purchase.
You may wish to cancel your order for whatever reason after it arrives. In which case you may do so within 7 working days from receiving the wine, provided the bottles are unopened, intact and in their original packaging (which must still be in its original condition). Once the goods are collected and inspected, we will reimburse you for the cost of the wine minus a surcharge of £15 for collection plus any original delivery charges which we incurred if all the items are returned (from mainland UK addresses, non-mainland addresses will incur higher rate surcharges). If you fail to make the goods available for collection within 14 days of cancellation, you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
