Trentino Manzoni Bianco Maso Furli, Big, bold hedonistic white wine, full of flavour, depth, body and all round umpf! Marco Zanoni is one of the nice guys of artisan wine production (well to fair, most of them are nice!), good friends with Eugenio Rosi and Alessandro Fanti who make up 3 of the group forming the Dolomitici wine producing association. They all make superb wines with passion and care in every drop of earthy, savoury juice. Marco's whites are very moreish and always satisfying. His Manzoni is a big boy (along with a 15.5% Traminer!!) and it is not to be tackled as an aperitif on a summer lunchtime. All deep stone fruits, apricot, lychee, notes of exotic herbs. This is meatballs made with speck and and a hearty Brodo style wine or maybe even some Fois Gras! A bottle will easily do 4 people as well so great value for the exceptional quality.

They all make superb wines with passion and care in every drop of earthy, savoury juice. Production is tiny, just 4 hectares and around 16000 bottles in total, and are produced with respect for the land. His wines are clean, complex, very moreish and always satisfying. Whilst his wines tend to be quite big in terms of alcohol, the 300m altitude of the estate helps preserve freshness, and there is an incredible texture to his wines, which is testament to his skill and passion.

  1. How good is this wine?

    Richard A10/07/2016

Pear drops on the nose. Powerful, fruity wine with a sweetish tinge and an unctuous, long-lasting finish. This will be great with a variety of rich, hearty food dishes.
