Weiss & Grau Enderle & Moll 2018, biodynamic wine, A 60/40 blend of Pinot Blanc & Pinot Gris, spending 3-4 weeks on skins. On the nose Quince, rose petals and hints of petroleum. On the pallet, orange zest, jammy undertones and citrusy pineapple. These make ace skin contact wines, great balance, always a nice element of chewy tannin and savoury undertones, classic Orange wines for devotees of the style who are a fair way down their natural wine journey.

Sven Enderle and Florian Moll met at wine school and after travelling separably to learn their craft at various wineries in Germany and abroad, they came back together to jump on an opportunity to establish their five hectares of vines in Munchweier on the slopes of the Black Forest in Baden. Here the soils are sandstone and limestone and are capable of producing Pinot Noir with lift and elegance and also different terroir expressions. Sven and Florian bottle 5 different expressions of Pinot with some 60 year old vines at the Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein vineyards. They work their vines biodynamiclly and ferment and age the wines in barrels sourced from the Dujac estate in Burgundy. However, they are not aiming for Burgundy style wine, rather their own unique expressions of light and elegant Pinot Noir which is atypical for the area of Baden.
